This work essentially brings together the papers presented at a conference on the sources of the history of travel organized within the framework of the congress of the Committee of Historical and Scientific Works which was held in La Rochelle in 2005 on the theme of travel. Without claiming to be exhaustive, its main aim is to draw attention to a certain number of sources or bodies of sources likely to interest all those who share a common interest in travel, whatever their discipline.
