The bookstore

The Antinoë Gallery is a bookstore specializing in archaeology and fine arts.
It is one of the last physical archaeology bookstores in France, with its largest sections devoted to Egyptology and Assyriology. It therefore offers both new and used books.

Located in the heart of Brest, close to the city's main artery, Rue de Siam, it is also a neighborhood bookstore in a rich cultural environment (primary schools, art galleries, antique gallery, Museum of Fine Arts, castle, School of Fine Arts, conservatory, etc.).

The bookstore offers specialized and rare works dealing with Prehistory to the Middle Ages, thus mixing excavation reports, essays, historical books, epigraphies, ancient texts, etc. In the Fine Arts section, books on both Western and non-Western art are offered, but also essays, exhibition catalogs, monographs and artists' books.

The place also has a small poetry section, a contemporary literature section, a numismatic section, a Brittany section and a youth section.

Both a specialist and local bookstore, Antinoë aims to be a warm and welcoming place offering advice to all types of people without distinction in its original and unusual setting.
It is made up of a team of two booksellers who are ready to assist you, both with your online orders and with your visits to the bookstore.

Antinoë was created in 1985 by Madame Brigitte Cordelle, bookseller and former expert in Mediterranean basin archaeology at the Aix-en-Provence Court of Appeal.
Established in Brest in 1992, it was first located on rue Jean-Jaurès, then opened an annex on rue Boussingault. In 2009, the gallery-bookstore set up shop on rue Emile Zola and welcomes you with a smile and a wood fire in winter.
