This immersive exhibition, co-published by Hazan Publishing, focuses on the era of the Serenissima's magnificence, between the Venetian Cinquecento and Settecento, and also offers a detour through Byzantine art with the superb golden mosaics of St. Mark's Basilica. Finally, it addresses a more modern era of the city of the Doges through photographs of the stars of the 1960s during its famous Mostra del Cinema.
A walk between interior and exterior, between sacred and profane, in the alternation of different eras, in search of the visible signs and symbols of an exceptional past of art and culture and which has seen a succession of great artists who are now internationally renowned. Among them, Bellini, Tintoretto, Titian, Canaletto, Veronese, are some of these Venetian masters who have contributed to enriching the city with its immense artistic treasure.
The painters Monet, for the prologue, and Turner, for the epilogue, suggest a more "impressionist" vision of the city.
