Unica Zürn (1916-1970) was a 20th-century artist and an exceptional woman. The ambition of this book is to restore a full-fledged place as an artist to the woman whose fate, often described as tragic, took precedence over her creativity. Despite her work now widely dispersed among numerous collections, nearly seventy drawings and engravings are brought together here, most of them produced during her stay at Sainte-Anne Hospital in the early 1960s. Archival documents and photographs provide an even better understanding of her work as a draftsman, painter, and writer.
