This catalogue presents for the first time the antique vases from the Collection of the brothers Auguste and Eugène Dutuit, great collectors, who donated an unparalleled collection to the Petit Palais. The 136 vases presented here are chosen for their technical or iconographic rarity. Their commentary allows us to address the political, economic and religious context. The work therefore constitutes both an essential reference for researchers and students, but is also aimed at a wider audience by evoking the history and mythology of Greek, Etruscan and Roman antiquity.
