Architects' journey is a collection of architectural works dealing monographically with the work of architects who have left their mark on the built landscape of Brussels after the First World War. The collection focuses on the careers of architects whose work is less well known to the general public but which would benefit from being so, as it incorporates an intimate relationship with the city. Each volume highlights a unique career, both literally and figuratively, revealing the built heritage as well as the little-known and little-studied facets of the urban history of the capital.
The first volume of the series follows the journey of Stanislas Jasinski (1901–1978), from the 1920s to the 1970s. He was the author of numerous projects, mainly in the Brussels Region. His work consists of a reinterpretation of the theme of the apartment building as a typology of the evolution of the city. The majority of his production is preserved and remains visible in public spaces. In addition to his architectural production, Jasinski left us numerous essential articles and texts, testifying to his constant commitment, throughout his career, to the debate on architecture and urban planning. Stanislas Jasinski's career undoubtedly deserves to be discovered and appreciated.
