The Centre Pompidou is publishing a new, revised and expanded edition of the exhibition catalogue dedicated to the work of Pierre Soulages, which welcomed more than 500,000 visitors during its presentation in 2009-2010. On this occasion, the artist will be signing copies of the book.
This work is now considered the editorial reference on the work of Soulages, a major figure in abstraction since the Second World War. This monograph includes a portfolio by Vincent Cunillière, which bears witness to the Parisian retrospective, and a text by the philosopher and novelist Alain Badiou, in homage to the artist. Giving prestigious and internationally renowned authors such as Hans Belting,
Yve-Alain Bois, Serge Guilbaut and Hans-Ulrich Obrist, as well as a host of young French art historians, the opportunity for original studies on different aspects of the artist's work, the catalogue is an essential work.
