For 15 years, I have forged a strong friendship with Buddhist nuns nestled in the heart of Zanskar (Himalayas). I first recounted these bonds in a film, "Sowers of Joy." Today, they become a photographic narrative of the same name, an immersion into their rare and intimate world of life.
With this account of "The Sowers of Joy," I share a life experience, looks of joy and hope, a message tinged with sisterhood and wisdom. The book is a lasting object, a heritage that I want to leave as a legacy. But it is also a tool.
Faced with the upheavals shaking Zanskar, the nunnery is fragile. Building on the efforts already made thanks to the Thigspa association and the film, this book helps support the nunnery and ensure its continued existence. 20% of the profits will be donated to the association.
