Winner of the Grand Prix national de l'architecture (2018), Pierre-Louis Faloci is a courageous builder and a passionate teacher. From his hometown of Nice, the crucible of his visual training, he has retained a keen sense of urbanity and a curiosity attentive to the issues of artists and filmmakers whose visual world he tirelessly explores. From his Parisian studies, he retained the lesson of accuracy from Georges-Henri Pingusson. Attending the Cinémathèque, Gilles Deleuze's course on "the movement-image and the time-image," and Hubert Damisch's seminar on "the origin of perspective" have lastingly guided his trajectory. From the Mont Beuvray Archaeological Center to the Mariana Museum in Haute-Corse, the question of the gaze (inextricably linked to that of the territory) is at the heart of his project practice. The objective of this work is to provide keys to understanding one of the most original and rigorous works and approaches on the contemporary architectural scene.
