This book brings together several photographic series from different periods but whose common denominator is the itinerary. Indeed, the photographic construction of a territory according to Thierry Girard is often constituted around a journey that can represent the line from one point to another whether imagined or real like the subway lines in Japan with "Yamanote" and "Tenjin" that the photographer follows from station to station. This line can also be historical, as when Thierry Girard takes up, geographically speaking, the conquering advance of the 2nd DB of General Leclerc allowing him to cross the landscape of Eastern France to Strasbourg, the point of arrival and liberation of the city. For the last work produced, the photographer travels several possible routes to arrive at the Lion of Belfort, crossing rural and urban landscapes, meeting
characters. The bringing together in a single book of four large photographic groups has the value of a manifesto.
