This issue, entitled "Body Fluids in Latin Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Doctrine, Lexicon, Texts", brings together 17 contributions by Italian and foreign scholars on the topic of body fluids in ancient medicine and veterinary medicine, studied from the perspective of doctrinal and textual contexts and the technical words that designate them. The contributions in the first section address the topic as a whole, analyzing the presence of the four traditional humors and other fluids in some texts from different perspectives: physiological, nosological, therapeutic. The contributions in the second section focus on traditional humors, in particular blood and bile. Finally, the third brings together studies dedicated to other biological fluids: urine, saliva, breast milk, sweat, the aquosus humor of dropsy, ocular humors, and the components of ulcers.
