The form and function of the hieroglyphs inscribed on the naos of the god Sopdu, found at Saft el-Henneh and now preserved in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, are studied in this work. Inscribed on its four faces, this monument of the 30th Dynasty is of great interest for epigraphy, especially since this period of Egyptian history is rather poor in monumental inscriptions. The plates present the facsimiles of nearly 1,500 signs divided into 443 categories and described according to the form established for the Hieroglyphic Paleography collection: identification of the sign, paleographic description with particular attention paid to the attestations of contemporary monuments, and function. This study of the naos of Sopdu will also be of wider interest to specialists in the art and religion of the Late Period.
