Gods, heroes, and myths... Writers give voice to legendary figures who haunt them. Do these voices, from far away in time, not still speak to us today? This is the challenge of this collection, which is also a journey through painting.
Learning of a terrible prophecy that dooms him to parricide and incest, the young prince Oedipus flees the kingdom of Corinth in an attempt to escape his destiny. His steps lead him to Thebes, a city devastated by the Sphinx, who poses a riddle to all who cross his path. By solving it, Oedipus eliminates the monster and is welcomed as a hero by the Thebans. Everything seems to be going well for him. Until the day when doubt assailants him and leads him to launch an investigation into his origins...
Do we absolutely have to know everything about ourselves? Is man free or is he the plaything of fate? Can we do evil while believing we are doing good? These are all essential questions that the character of Oedipus places before us, who, having reached the end of his life, tells us about his adventure here in a fictional autobiography.
