The Rolin Museum continues its rich collaboration with the Louvre and, in partnership with the Denon Museum in Chalon-sur-Saône, is offering a double exhibition dedicated to the flamboyant artistic patronage of Burgundian high-ranking officials in the late Middle Ages. It benefits from exceptional loans from the Parisian museum's sculpture, painting, and art objects departments.

In the aura of the Dukes, the high dignitaries of the court of Burgundy, men of the Church, nobles and officers, developed a taste for art and luxury objects. By imitation, they commissioned works from the great court artists of the time, but also from local artists: Jan Van Eyck, Rogier Van der Weyden, Claus de Werve, Jean de la Huerta, Antoine le Moiturier or even Pierre Spicre and the Changenets, considerably enriching the heritage of the cities in which they resided and officiated.

The Rolin Museum in Autun will offer a fresh perspective on the major artistic commissions of the Rolin and Clugny families. The Denon Museum in Chalon-sur-Saône will highlight the personalities of Jean Germain and the Rolin, Poupet, and Neufchâtel families.
