Catalogue of the exhibition “Joan Miró: Masterpieces from the Nahmad Collection” presented at the Picasso Museum in Antibes from June 30 to October 27, 2024.

This book offers a unique experience: presenting twelve masterful works by Joan Miró, from one of the most important private collections in the world, the Nahmad Collection, in the dazzling space of the Picasso Museum in Antibes. Miró is at home in this museum, like a guest in his friend's house. For the friendship that, since their first meeting in Paris in 1920, bound the two artists together throughout their lives, was also a catalyst for their creative passion. The book presents a single work, sometimes two, in the beautiful light of the rooms of the Château Grimaldi.

Unlike a traditional exhibition catalogue that gathers and associates, here it is no longer a question of accumulation, but of concentration and reception of the object in its singularity for contemplation and interpretation. Each page is then the setting for a single motif of meditation, or a subtle dialogue, to offer the optimal conditions for the gaze which, without hesitation and without having to choose, rests on the painting to better see and hear it. The aim here is not to report on an exhibition, but rather on an installation in the changing space of the museum galleries, for an original encounter between a work and an architecture, an unusual journey in twelve stages to share the exact beauty of these paintings revealing to us "the magical meaning of things".
