The exhibition series "Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth: Gems of Antiquities Collections in Hong Kong" is an on-going cooperative project with private collectors. Since 2001, over 1,200 items of Chinese antiquities of the finest quality has been featured, a large proportion of them being important loans from prominent local collectors. This exhibition handbook is a comprehensive record of the exhibition series including Ceramics, Lacquer, Bamboo, Wood, Ivory, Rhinoceros Horn, Bronze, Gold and Jade, presenting the chronological development of each type of art and craft, and explaining the technical and artistic features.
