Mr. Kaksi.

Inspired by the title of a poem by Finnish writer Aaro Hellaakoski, Me Kaksi (which translates as "the two of us" in English) celebrates the chance encounter, the strange proximity, the presence in the world of two beings. A look back at more than forty years of wanderings around the world, the photographs in this book, combining a selection of iconic and some previously unseen, restore these fleeting moments captured on the sly by Pentti Sammallahti. The idea of the duo, the couple, accomplices of all kinds appears repeatedly in the photographer's work. Whether lovers, friends, children, passersby, travelers, neighbors, but also a man and his dog, two birds... these images tell of attachment, tenderness, the universality of the emotional bond, "being-in-the-world" together.
