It was in 1947 that Jean Cocteau acquired the Bailly house in Milly-la-Forêt, and it became a refuge for the poet, away from the tumultuous Parisian life, until his death in 1963. Deeply marked by the artist's spirit and then preserved and maintained by his companion Edouard Dermit, this magnificent residence is today used as the exhibition space for the works of the Cocteau estate (drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, films, autographs): a site of memory for a multidisciplinary work unique in the twentieth century. This work is interspersed with texts that accompany the visit and enriched with a complete biography and filmography.
