This collective work was born from the meeting of artists, researchers, and residents that took place within the framework of an action research project on the place of women in public space. Like the collective that produced it, this book offers multiple approaches, seeking to think about producing research differently by trying to restore its democratic character. It presents working methodologies where the expertise of everyday life must be recognized; diverse fields that shed light on each other, mostly European, they continue the reflection begun in The City: What Gender? This collection is also hybrid since it offers texts by residents, staged by Damien Labruyère, to be read alongside scientific analyses or proposals for architectural and landscape development. Thus, in five stages, observe, live, play, draw, make, the city is considered at different scales, its story is that of geographers, theater artists, dance artists, sociologists, architects, residents, graphic designers.
