This work offers a translation/transliteration of the texts present in two papyri of the "Book of the Dead":

- the "Papyrus of Ptahmes" (Milan, Busca collection) which has 21 "Chapters" and 3 "Formulas"; approximately 6.6 m long and dated to the 19th-20th dynasty (c. 1200-1100 BC), it most probably comes from the Theban region [a first Appendix allows you to visualize on diagrams the arrangement of the different texts on the "Papyrus" and a second Appendix presents the hieroglyphic transcription of the different "Chapters"];

- the "Papyrus of Hounefer" (BM EA 9901) which only has 5 "Chapters", 2 "Formulas" and 1 "Hymn"; approximately 5.5 m long and dated to the 19th dynasty (reign of Seti II, c. 1202-1196 BC), it probably also comes from the Theban region [a first Appendix allows you to visualize on diagrams the arrangement of the different texts on the "Papyrus" and a second Appendix presents the color reproduction of the facsimile of the "Papyrus" (after Budge 1899, pl. 1-11].
