Janinet recounts, through striking images and historical texts, the first twenty-two months of the Revolution, from the opening of the Estates General on May 5, 1789, to the little-known but symbolic massacre of M. de Mauduit, on March 5, 1791, in Port-au-Prince, Santo Domingo.
