The Theatre of Pompey is one of the buildings that revolutionized Roman architecture and yet remains little known. This monograph, to which a DVD is attached, combines a proposal for a virtual reconstruction of the theatrical complex in its 4th century AD state with a rigorous and exhaustive analysis of the ancient sources that allow this reconstruction. Beyond visualization, the virtual reconstruction allows us to advance on the path of experimentation (viewing the actors from the different levels of stands or from the box of honor, play of shadow and light). For the first time, particular attention is paid to the technical means that accompany the performance: stage curtain, deployment of the awning, water sprays on the spectators and the stage. The DVD attached to this volume presents the framework in which the research took place and the methodology applied.
