This work offers a translation/transliteration of all the "Chapters" present in the "Papyrus of the Book of the Dead of Youiou".

Approximately 9.7 m long and 18.9 cm high, this "Papyrus" was discovered during the opening in 1905 of tomb TB 46 in the Valley of the Kings. It has been dated to the 18th Dynasty, more precisely to the reign of Amenhotep III (c. 1390-1352 BC), thanks to a vase and chests found in the tomb. The holder of the "Papyrus", Youiou, was a notable of the city of Akhmin; but above all, he was the father of Tiy, wife of Amenhotep II, and of Ay who would later succeed Tutankhamun.

Unfolding from left to right, the "Youiou Papyrus" presents 41 "Chapters" from the "Book of the Dead". Written in hieroglyphic script, the "Chapters" are read from left to right in retrograde (their hieroglyphic signs are oriented to the right), except for Chapter 22 which is read directly from right to left (with the hieroglyphic signs oriented to the right).

A first "Appendix" allows you to visualize on diagrams the arrangement of the different "Chapters" on the "Papyrus" and a second "Appendix" presents the black and white photographic reproduction of the Papyrus (according to "Davis 1908, pl. I-XXXIV).
