Biography of Marc-Antoine Bissière, known as Louttre. B (1926-2012) From his adolescence spent in the Lot region, Louttre. B retained a predilection for nature. The need to paint arose very early on, in the studio where he interacted with his father, the painter Roger Bissière (1886-1964). His first solo exhibitions took place at the Loeb Gallery in 1957 and then at the Jeanne-Bucher Gallery in 1959. Louttre. B's work found its identity in the early 1960s with a form of figuration that he declined and reactivated in cycles, constantly renewing his pictorial vocabulary. Acrylic painting, pigments mixed with sand: the painter explored the means by which his work achieved the density of nature. At the same time, Louttre. B diversified his practices and multiplied his experiments. Monumental sculptures and "factories" in the Lot, public commissions, porcelain experiments at the Sèvres factory, intaglio woodcuts and artist's books.
