The Flâneur of the Two Banks is one of Apollinaire's last writings, published posthumously in 1919. Commissioned by Cendrars and Cocteau, the book is a montage made by Apollinaire from chronicles published in the Mercure de France, augmented by previously unpublished sections. Parisian strolls, by chance encounters, hesitating between dream and reality, we discover Ernest La Jeunesse, Ferragute Cypriate, the Hôtel des Haricots, the Musée des Réverbères, etc.
and this constant shift between dream and reality gives this text a marvelous tone that makes it a masterpiece of literature about Paris. Color notebook with pages from the manuscript and followed by a note from the editors, Patricia Farazzi and Michel Valensi.
