More than 200 works of art have been selected to be part of this event showcasing the artistic and cultural relationships between two great civilizations, between the 8th and 18th centuries. An exhibition organized in partnership with the National Museum of Asian Arts-Guimet. "It confirms the role played by the Louvre Abu Dhabi in highlighting intercultural relations, as well as the need to adopt new approaches in the field of historical research. For nearly a millennium, these two cultures were linked by trade, scientific curiosity, and artistic production. They observed and inspired each other. Our history of common influences and inspirations deliberately ceased at the beginning of the 18th century, when other models proposing a radically new aesthetic emerged," explains Dr. Souraya Noujaim, the scientific director in charge of conservation and collections at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
