It took exceptional geographical and climatic conditions for these sculptures to reach us, a hundred pieces that are as many masterpieces. It is indeed thanks to a humidity quite comparable to that of Egypt that these objects, buried, hidden in tombs, were able to be preserved in such a fresh state. As much as the pieces made of stone, gold or another precious metal, more often displayed, they deserve our admiration. Mochica, Chancay, Chimu, Ica..., they bear witness, from the 1st century BC to the 15th century, to life in the pre-Columbian era and the genius of its different civilizations. Object of use or object of power, ritual and sacrifice, each of these sculptures carries its history and imposes its beauty.
