Over time, Florence and Daniel Guerlain have built up an exceptional collection of drawings, the fruit of their unwavering passion and curiosity. In 2007, with the aim of promoting the place of graphic arts in art, they decided to create a drawing prize as part of their contemporary art foundation. Their constant generosity led them to make a significant donation to the Centre Pompidou in 2012, constituting an unprecedented enrichment for the collection of works on paper at the Musée national d'art moderne.
The pleasure of collecting together, as well as their insatiable desire to continue their discoveries in the world of drawing, to which is added their irrepressible need to live surrounded by works of art, lead them to continue their acquisitions for their daily environment. This book and the exhibition that accompanies it reveal a new, probably more intimate, side of the passion for the line that they combine together, in unison with the eclecticism of their tastes and a universalist bias.
