Exhibition "The making of collections": as an extension of the inauguration season of a "transformed" Fine Arts Museum in Dijon, a temporary exhibition will provide an overview of the acquisitions of works that have accompanied the renovation project over the last ten years during the summer of 2020 (June 26 - September 21): during the work, the "making of collections" continued, bringing together more than 300 new pieces, thanks to a proactive purchasing policy by the City of Dijon and the strong support of the State, thanks to the generosity of donors, the passion of collectors and the commitment of contemporary artists. From a selection of around 110 works (drawings, paintings, sculptures, installations) from various periods and formal approaches, this temporary exhibition, designed in the dedicated exhibition rooms and in the permanent exhibition, will highlight a new or rarely presented part of the collection. It will share with the public the main directions of an enrichment campaign that questions the very identity of the museum in an ever-richer heritage landscape.
