In 2005, Anne Coulié was surprised by the age of research on the wild goat style of ceramics and designated as a priority the resumption of the study of the archaic ceramics of Eastern Greece preserved at the Louvre. This book is the fruit of her work. Its objective is to provide a clear synthesis of the pottery workshops responsible for the creation and diffusion of the wild goat style in the 7th and 6th centuries BC, and to gather good documentary, graphic and photographic coverage of the Louvre collection. This publication accompanies several events that will take place at the Louvre soon, notably the exhibition "Rhodes, a Greek island at the gates of the Orient" and a special exhibition on Milesian ceramics. This book, with its extremely rich iconographic repertoire, will delight all lovers of ancient art.
