Mobile Architecture is Yona Friedman's first essay, published in 1958 and printed in around ten copies intended for architects, including Le Corbusier. It was subsequently reissued in 1961, 1963, 1968, each time enriched with new texts and drawings until the 1970 edition, published by Casterman, which has been described as "the most important manifesto of modern architecture since Le Corbusier's Charter of Athens" (Michel Ragon). Our edition brings together all the texts from the different editions and allows us to follow their evolution and identify their layers. Yona Friedman, who celebrated her 96th birthday in June 2019, wishes to bring some 21st-century commentaries to this old book, whose conceptual richness has not yet been fully understood.
