Taken literally, the term monograph seems insufficient to describe Armand Dupuy's work. Subtitled "Stories, thoughts, drifts & falls", this long study of Jérémy Liron's painting is disconcerting from the very first lines by restoring in a stream of consciousness the disarray of a chaos of sensations - a highly subjective approach, heralding an unexpected diversity of writing regimes. And in fact, if the rest of the work reserves analyses of a very classic clarity, this initial dismay marks the research from start to finish: "what we see in front of a painting is only our own contact with it", according to the formula of Bernard Noël which serves as a compass for the author. The investigation takes on the appearance of an introspective drama. It will not only probe the work, but also the one who claims to see and write it.
