When he arrived on Eigg in 2015, Charles Delcourt felt a kind of love at first sight, like a calling. He was both drawn to the magnificent landscapes of this Scottish island, but also and above all to the rugged and committed lifestyle developed by the inhabitants who became owners of their island in 1997. Through his regular visits there, he discovered and documented their way of being, along with an original energy model. The island of Eigg is now completely self-sufficient thanks to sustainable resources (hydroelectric, wind, and solar).
ISLE OF EIGG by Charles Delcourt will be available on November 10 in bookstores.
ISLE OF EIGG is a photographic book that reflects Charles Delcourt's experiences. Supported by the locals, particularly Camille Dressler, historian and author of the text, this book becomes, in a way, the islanders' passport to the mainland.
