This "State of Parallels" is based on texts inscribed in a certain number of Egyptian monuments built over a very long period of around two thousand years, since the oldest dates back to the 5th Dynasty (c. 2500 BC) and the most recent to the 17th Dynasty (c. 500 BC).

These monuments are as follows:
- the pyramids of the pharaohs Unas, Teti, Pepy I, Merenre, Pepy II and Aba;
- the pyramids of queens Nait, Ipout and Oudjebten;
- six private tombs prior to the 19th Dynasty: the mastabas of Neha, Imhotep, Senusretânkh and Siese, as well as the tombs of Horhotep and Amenemhat;
- eleven tombs from the 25th-27th dynasties: the tombs of Râdjaa, Padiamenipet, Hor, Ouahibrê-men, Neferibrê-sa-neith, Amentefnakht, Hekaemsaf, Péténeith, Péténisis, Psammétique and Tchannehibou.

The entries in this "State of Parallels" are made up of the numbers of the "Sprüche" and the alphabetical references of the "sections" retained by Kurt Sethe in his synoptic edition of the "Pyramid Texts". And for each entry, the existing parallels are identified according to the coded designation system proposed by the "French Archaeological Mission of Saqqara" which successively identifies: the name of the deceased, the room of the funerary apartment, the cardinal orientation of the wall concerned, the order number of the column or line on the wall.

This "State of parallels" is completed by two "Annexes" which present the inverse correspondence tables: "editorial designation / MAFS system" and "MAFS system / editorial designation".
