The exhibition illustrates the evolution of landscapes from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century, when academicism was still very present in people's minds, to the modernity of Denise Esteban (1925-1986), through Impressionism, where painters freed themselves from a straitjacket. For this exhibition, the Lodève Museum has partnered with the Reims Museum of Fine Arts, which has one of the most important collections of 19th-century landscape paintings in France.
