This book unveils twenty-five previously unseen works from the Jacquinot collection at the Chaumont Museum. These works, which bear witness to Spanish, Latin American, and Italian Baroque art, have recently been identified and restored, some of them attributed to the greatest artists, such as the Mexican painters José de Paez and Nicolas Enriquez. This collection of paintings and sculptures, extremely rare in French public collections, opens a new chapter in our understanding of Baroque art. Paintings on canvas, copper, and leather, ivories, and polychrome sculptures illustrate the creative profusion and pursuit of splendor of the Baroque era.
