Exhibition catalog From July 8 to August 31, 2025, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco presents “Colors!”, an exhibition dedicated to a modern history of color through great masterpieces of the 20th century, from the collection of the Centre Pompidou.

Every summer, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco produces a major thematic exhibition designed to express the renewal of creativity. In collaboration with the world's leading cultural institutions, its projects enjoy international renown. The exhibition "Colors!", which draws on the collections of the Centre Pompidou, was conceived based on a surprising observation: as obvious as such a subject may seem, very few works are devoted to the modern artistic use of color. Through an original journey evoking the chromatic discs that fascinated artists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, "Colors!" also explores, through immersive rooms, the notion of synesthesia, this mysterious dialogue between sound, smell, and visual perception. Around a hundred masterpieces—from the early 20th century to the present day—punctuate this journey, raising the question of the "decorative" inherent in the pictorial use of color.
