The book Contemporary Bus Stops Design (PT) is not an exhaustive catalog of Portuguese bus stops, but the culmination of author Etienne Bouet's curiosity for the ordinary (and not so ordinary) design of structures and their situations. Etienne Bouet is a protean artist, a true jack-of-all-trades and self-taught. His interests lie primarily in contemporary art, architecture, and photography. In recent years, he produced the book Skateurs ordinaires (Cameda Editions) and co-produced Paris, Skate in the City (Editions Eyrolles). He painted the Red XV series, then the Unconcrete Architects series, again in collaboration with Mathieu Claudon, which will be exhibited from Paris to New York via Berlin. Initiated by his series and strengthened by a trip to Portland, the author focuses on architecture that he describes as ordinary. Second-rate architecture and design, born out of a need for use, become subjects in their own right from an aesthetic point of view. These structures are a true legacy, quality subjects closely linked to their environment. This guiding principle and a trip to Portugal led the author to publish this book and the photographic series Lost Structures, as well as the following ones.
