This work is the culmination of an original investigation initiated by Henri Wild over 80 years ago. Surveys conducted in public and private collections enabled the Egyptologist to inventory and draw a significant series of steles and bas-reliefs preserved in Switzerland.
The death of Henri Wild in 1983 prevented the completion of this project. However, its author had sought the assistance of a colleague, Michel Valloggia, to finalize, together, the distribution of this documentary treasure trove.
Today, the high quality of the plates drawn by Henri Wild remains and offers us a remarkable overview of the Egyptian antiquities preserved in Switzerland in the middle of the 20th century . century.
