Les Arts Florissants, founded by Franco-American conductor William Christie in 1979, is by no means an ensemble like any other. They have over fifty operatic productions to their credit, mounted in France and abroad by major opera houses or thanks to festivals, with brilliant production teams. In the wake of Atys in 1987, which marked the revival of the Baroque on the operatic stage, they have worked with the greatest directors, costume designers, and choreographers.
