This volume presents the results of excavations undertaken between 2012 and 2016 by the Eberhard-Karls University of Tübingen at the Temple of Repit, built by Ptolemy XII at Athribis, in the province of Sohag. The first part focuses on the difficulties of the site, which stem from the hundreds of massive blocks scattered around, and reviews the archaeological techniques and materials used. The stratigraphic and archaeological study of the temple provides an understanding of its occupation in the late Roman and early Islamic periods. The most significant findings are presented in chronological order for each part of the temple. The book concludes with an account of the excavations carried out by the Egyptian Antiquities Organization (now the Ministry of Antiquities) between 1981 and 1997.
