The international climate agreement reached at COP21 in 2015 sets the objective of limiting global warming to between 1.5°C and 2°C by 2100. The coordination and effective implementation, at all levels, of climate change mitigation and adaptation policies are necessary to achieve this objective. ADEME — the Ecological Transition Agency — is firmly committed to the fight against global warming and is putting its expertise at the service of public policy and implementing a climate change adaptation strategy. It notably incorporates numerous elements of knowledge, preservation and acclimatization of ecosystems, as well as ecosystem approaches, known as " green "Nature-based solutions exist and remain to be developed and, above all, to be generalized.
The projects presented in this book bring together and synthesize the contributions capitalized on the subject in recent years. Mitigating global warming and adapting to these developments are two criteria to be integrated into urban designs, both at the territorial level, particularly through planning documents, and in urban projects and development operations. This collection of research and proposals aims to provide decision-makers, practitioners, and future practitioners with avenues for action and to present them with possible ways of acting to make today's and tomorrow's urban projects more adaptive and resilient.
